Ruffling my feathers

I can fly.
It had been a few months and the doubts had started to creep in
but after a few minutes in the air.....
I felt at home.

I felt the wing moving, being pulled by the thermals,
saw the view opening up as I climbed out......
to the sea and skyscrapers of the Gold Coast
and the paddocks and hills around Canungra.

I was in a competition.
I wasn't so competitive.
I know that I will be again sometime
when this phase of life moves into another
and the time and place is right.

I can still fly
its a good feeling.

Thank you Arthur and Jason for looking after the small people so well
and allowing me to have that time for myself.

Pelican Crossing

Pretty amazing creatures these pelicans.
Look at those eyes ........ and that beak.
Properly prehistoric.

They were happy cruising around the bay,
keeping their eyes on the large fish...that a little boy was using as bait.
Meanwhile we picniced and splashed around in the shallows
making the most of the sunshine after 4 days of storms that kept us indoors.

I'm watching you!

Jump for Joy

Pike (if that's what it's called) is still about my limit in terms of acrobatics.
Its much more fun in the middle of the bush than by the school pool!

Todd and Amanda are expecting a baby in a week or so,
we went to celebrate.

This involved..variously..
bouncing
bubbles
shed envy
cake consumption
...and kebabs

Daddy get that spinach out of your teeth!

Cake jealousy.

Buzzy Bees

A black and yellow outfit arrived in the post last week.
There's been a lot of buzzing around since then.
Layla practised her flying in the living room,
Skye tried hers at the swings.

It finally got worn for its intended purpose at the swimming pool last thrusday!
