Walking

A certain small someone has learnt to walk.
Of course she's very pleased with herself.
Looking up and smiling and squeaking to make sure everyone has noticed.
 Which of course we have.
Mummy, Daddy and Skye are very excited about it too.

Caravan Camping

The little van finally got to move from her spot on the driveway
and headed down the coast on a small road trip.

A weekend outside,
eating dirt,
stalking kangaroos
lighting smoky fires,
escaping from the flies....down a cave, on a windy beach.

I got my first proper swim in the sea this summer too.
It had dismissed the water as too cold but then Bobby's hat blew away
......so I had my reason to get in and of course it was lovely once I was.

It was our first hot weekend.
Just great to feel the warmth of the sun and sand on your skin.

And also to come home for a hot shower!

Total Eclipse of the Sun

We had a very temporary stand-down on Project 54 up here at Mareeba
at 6:38am on the 14th November.

Due to circumstances beyond our control.

Over an 8 minute period the sky gradually darkened to a false night as the Moon passed directly in front of the Sun, producing an eerie sensation as the silence and darkness enveloped all in its midst.

Of course, by 6:55 we were all back on the job as usual, & considering possibilities of an extension of time variation.

Projects Surveyor Dave Snowden, ‘reckoned’ he had things in control, measuring the inclination to 12deg 27 min 15 seconds.
He had a 'firm grasp' on the situation (see below).

He is now dealing with retinal sunspot.

Phenomenal.

Britz Abroad

This is the beast that housed us for our holidays!

It was fun.

It being our van (for the week) it got very messy
and a few bits fell off it that shouldn't have.  Hmmm.
(Luckily we got the full insurance....know thy selves!)

He we are making a mess,
attempting to restore order,
making music,
and visiting some nice places.

Can you spot the Elk horn tree ferns?
